The Sangguniang Panlungsod is the Legislative Body of the city. It enacts ordinances, approves resolutions and appropriates funds for the general welfare of the city and its constituents pursuant to Section 16 of the Local Government Code of 1991.

HIGHLIGHTS

25th Regular Session

                The 19th City Council approved on Third and Final Reading during its 25th Regular Session held on July 6, 2021, Ordinance No. 0634-21, Series of 2021, governing abandoned and derelict motor vehicles within the territorial jurisdiction of Davao City and providing penalties thereof.

                The Body also passed and approved on Final Reading, Ordinance No. 0632-21, Series of 2021, otherwise known as the new Cockfighting Code of Davao City, to include E-Sabong as a mode of betting and amusement for local cockfight aficionados.

                Ordinance No. 0646-21, Series of 2021, was likewise approved on Third and Final Reading authorizing the City Mayor to enter into and sign, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Office Of the City Director of Davao City, relative to the implementation of nine Fiscal Year 2020 Payapa and Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) Projects.

      Sir/Maam, the City of Davao approved Ordinance No. 060-02, prohibiting the manufacture, sale, distribution, possession or use of firecrackers or pyrotechnic devices and such other similar devices and the exploding of firecrackers and other similar explosives within the territorial jurisdiction of Davao City.

      Maam, if you are referring to overland terminals, the City of Davao has approved Ordinance No. 0110-86, Series of 1986, entitled: Amending Ordinance No. 63, series of 1985, is hereby to read as follows: “An Ordinance establishing guidelines, standards, rules and regulations for the management and operation and establishment of the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal at New Matina, City of Davao, declared and authorized under Resolution No. 7, and Ordinance No. 1, Series of 1984, enacted on February 16, 1984”

    Good day. I’m not sure if the city ordinance on firecracker ban was ever amended to include the prohibition of use of Sky Lanterns. Please let me know if Sky Lanterns are prohibited in Davao city.

      Sir, Ordinance No. 060-02, Series of 2002, of the City of Davao does not specifically state that the use of “sky lanterns” are prohibited in the City of Davao.

  6. Maam, may i ask for a copy of ordinance concerning Indigenous People Mandatory Representative particularly the term sharing between Kagan and Mansaka if you have. Thanks

      We apologize for the late response as we have been withholding responses to Comments and Requests until further update from the City Information & Technology Center (CITC) which has been upgrading our system.

      We would like to inform you that the ONLINE LANDMARK FACILITY where you can download PDF copies of Ordinances of Davao City was already available last week. However, due to a persisting technical problem, which is still being worked upon by the CITC, we regret to inform you that downloading of Landmark Ordinances has been temporarily suspended until further notice.
